Nationals Team Report (Yahoo! Sports) Six weeks after the Nationals brought Stephen Strasburg to the major leagues, they had to do what they'd hoped to avoid by taking such a cautious route with him: They put him on the disabled list. Strasburg, who was scratched from his start Tuesday with shoulder inflammation, is only expected to be out for 15 days, as the team gives its prized rookie time to rest his shoulder. He will travel with the team on its upcoming trip to the West Coast and could come back Aug. 6, when he was scheduled to pitch against the Dodgers, but manager Jim Riggleman said it's likely the Nationals will wait a few days after that. Riggleman also said that if Strasburg is feeling any pain the rest of the season, he won't pitch.

When Braves rookie Jason Heyward swiped home on the front end of a double steal with Brian McCann in the first inning of a 3-1 victory over the Nationals on Wednesday night, the event was so rare, so made-up-on-the-spot, no one involved quite knew what to make of it. "You're not going to see a lot of it," Heyward said.
