The Rangers agreed to send minor league pitchers Evan Reed and Omar Poveda to Florida for Cantu. Texas also received approximately $2.2 million in cash to offset the increase to the team's payroll. Reed projects as a reliever. Poveda has a high ceiling, but he has missed the entire season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
