Stadium : Charlotte Sports Park

The Tampa Bay Rays had been playing their spring training games at "Florida Power Park, Home of Al Lang Field," in St. Petersburg since 1998. As of 2009, they have moved their spring training to Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, FL, near Ft. Myers. At this time, the fate of Al Lang Field is unknown for beyond 2009, though the Tampa Bay Rays have announced their plans to build a new $450 million stadium on this site. A pretty price for 47 acres of waterfront bought in 1868 by the City of St. Petersburg for $23.50 total!!

Port Charlotte has completely rebuilt Charlotte Sports Park for the Tampa Bay Rays. Come enjoy the new facilities and cheer on your favorite MLB team.
