Seattle Mariners Overview

The Seattle Mariners are a Major League Team that plays in the Western Division of the American League. The team was formed in 1977, 7 years after the Seattle Pilots moved from Seattle to Milwaukee and changed their name to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Mariners derive their name from the local marine culture of the Pudget Sound area of the great Northwest. They are also affectionately called "The M's" by local fans.

Seattle Mariner fans will again get to see their team play in 2009 spring training starting this February. Fans will get to see Seattle Mariner star players such as Ichiro Suzuki who batted a .351 RBI in 2007 and is only the third player with seven consecutive 200-hit seasons, and the first to do it in his first seven seasons. You'll also get to see A. Beltre, who batted 26 Home Runs, and R. Ibanez, who had 105 Runs Batted In. They'll also get to see F. Hernandez, who was credited with 165 strikeouts and M. Batista, who had 16 wins in 2007.

Come see the Seattle Mariners during 2009 spring training as they prepare for the 2009 regular season baseball season.
