Dodgers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Fri, 30 Jul 2010 02:30:51 PDT

Not that he was expected to be a one-man savior, but Scott Podsednik could only do so much to ignite a dormant Dodgers offense in his debut.

The newest Dodger went 0-for-3 with a walk and stolen base as the Dodgers' offensive misery continued.

In the 14 games since the All-Star break, the Dodgers have been shut out once, scored one run four times, two runs five times (including Thursday), three runs once, four runs twice, and five runs once. That's an average of 2.1 runs a game, and it's remarkable the Dodgers actually won five of six games in one stretch.

Podsednik caught a morning flight to San Diego, arrived at Petco Park less than three hours before first pitch, started in center field (as Matt Kemp was given a day off), batted leadoff and had teammates hoping...

Oscar Salazar's single in the bottom of the ninth gave the National League West-leading San Diego Padres a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. The Padres took two of three games in the series, opening a seven-game gap between them. The California rivals will meet again in a four-game series at Dodger Stadium starting Monday.

The San Diego Padres are no longer a surprise to Joe Torre and the Los Angeles Dodgers. "We've been past that point, in my mind," Torre said after watching Oscar Salazar deliver a pinch-hit single with one out in the ninth inning to give the NL West-leading Padres a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers on Thursday to take two of three games.

Padres finally beat Dodgers at Petco Park, 6-1 (AP)
Wed, 28 Jul 2010 23:14:30 PDT
As Adrian Gonzalez's at-bat dragged on, Tony Gwynn Jr. stood on second base, constantly checking out how deep center fielder Matt Kemp was playing. When Gonzalez hit a bloop one-out single that fell in just in front of Kemp, Gwynn took off for home, sparking the NL West-leading San Diego Padres to a 6-1 win over the rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

Ethier delivered a clutch two-run single with two outs in the seventh inning off Jon Garland to give the Dodgers a 2-0 win over the NL West-leading San Diego Padres on Tuesday night, the first of seven games between the division rivals in 10 days.

Kershaw, Dodgers stifle punchless Mets 1-0 (AP)
Sun, 25 Jul 2010 17:42:37 PDT
The added incentive behind Clayton Kershaw's stellar performance had more to do with a tired bullpen than the fact that it was his first start since appealing a five-game suspension. Kershaw scattered seven hits over eight innings and Russell Martin hit an eighth-inning RBI double in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 1-0 victory over the punchless New York Mets on Sunday.
