The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded right-hander Edwin Jackson to the Chicago White Sox for pitchers Dan Hudson and David Holmberg. An All-Star in 2009, Jackson is 6-10 with a 5.16 ERA in 21 starts this season, including the second no-hitter in team history on June 25 against Tampa Bay. White Sox Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Fri, 30 Jul 2010 02:30:48 PDT

The White Sox have patiently sat by and watched Detroit and Minnesota make improvements to their rosters with deadline deals heading into Saturday, all the while quietly going about their business.

Meanwhile, general manager Ken Williams and his team are involved in rumors that seem to be ever-changing. It's nothing new for Williams, who is never shy about last-minute trades as the deadline nears.

Last season, it was Jake Peavy after Peavy had already shot the team down months earlier. In 2008, it was Ken Griffey Jr..

Williams has been a bit more predictable in the offseason. Trades move slower then. There are more leaks. But at the deadline, that's where he flourishes, that's his wheelhouse.
