The Baltimore Orioles are a major League Baseball team based in Baltimore, Maryland. One of the original charter franchisies of the American League, the Orioles were first established as a major league baseball club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1901 and called the Milwaukee Brewers. The Milwaukee Brewers moved to St. Louis in 1902 and became the St. Louis Browns. After over 50 years of baseball in St. Louis, the St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1954 and changed their club name to Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles, which is the State bird of Maryland, are also called the O's and the Birds by they legion of loyal fans. The Orioles are in the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's American League (AL). Since 1992, the Orioles have played their regular season home games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. They play their spring training games at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium and are a member of the Grapefruit League, though that may change in 2010 since their contract expires at the end of the 2009 season. At this time, it is not clear if they will be back in Ft. Lauderdale next year or even within the State of Florida. They may relocate to Arizona and join the Cactus League.

We invite you to see the Baltimore Orioles during this spring training season in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It may be their last at this facility.
